Problems with rust in well water?

My brother has rust in his well water. It turns everything orange and he can’t even drink it. It cost around $1,500 just to dig another well, but there is no guarantee that the water from the new well will be any better than the old water.

I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if there were any filters out there that actually work?

AWWW Yes, the ol’ Rusty well water. It has been a burden since wells were first dug. Iron is the cause or it can also be bacteria causing this. If you want a cheap fix, buy some chlorine tablets and drop it in the well as directed. There are ways to make the water very acceptable but it may not be cheap. Kat gave you a good site to start your investagtion. Filtration and chlorination are the keys to clean well water.

This is another great site to start with as well. http://www.intec-america.com/intec/

My boss has well water issues. Now He does have money….LOL but he installed a green sand filter, then a water softner and Cholorintor. This though costly, gave him bottle quailty water.

Having you water tested to see your needs is important. Do your homwork and get a specialist to give free estimates. ( You May have to pay for water testing) They should know what you do or do not need and not try to sell you!

Bottom line advice…….
In most cases I can tell you that a water softner will take care of most of your issues. At least so that you can deal with it. Buy a nice softner, drop some tablets in the well and you should notice a big difference
