Rust Kitchen Sink

rust kitchen sink
rusting kitchen sink?

Our kitchen sink has started getting what appears to be little rust spots showing up everywhere. It’s like our sink has a rash! lol
I gather they get old and maybe this one has passed its used by but is it possible that the dish washing liquid has caused it as we never had a problem before and we changed our d.w liquid about 6mths ago and now this is happening. (the liquid is a cheap brand also)

Any ideas on the cause?
And, any handy tips to stop it getting worse or possibly get rid of it would be ace ;)
cheers

Try polishing the rust areas out. I would try a whitening toothpaste for this. It’s non abrasive and has chemical cleaners that will not damage enamel or Porcelain, You may need to replace the sink. Which can be quite a project, unless you are handy. Good luck
