How do you repolish a bathtub?

Ok so there were some rust stains in my bathtub and I had to get them out. Nothing worked, not even magic eraser. Anyway, so I was at the store and I saw Lime-Away got rid of rust stains. Sounds easy enough, right? Well I put it on and scrub it as hard as I can and still nothing. Then i thought I’d let the Lime-Away liquid sit on the stain until it came out. And it actually worked!

Only, it took away the polishing of the tub. Now wherever I put the Lime-Away, there are scratchy parts and indents where polishing used to be. In other words, it’s not longer glossy but looks like it just came out of the oven when you make pottery.

Help! What should I do?

Here in the U.S. Re glazing is about 250 dlrs per tub with a 10 yr lifespan
