How to repair, or clean cast iron pans?

I have a few older cast iron pans that were given to me. They have rust inside the bottom of the pan. How do I get rid of the rust and season properly?

YES! SOS pads or brillo pads. Once you have washed it you need to dry it on the stove. Put the pan on a lit burner and it will dry nicely. Once it is dry turn the burner off This will help keep the rust from returning.
